Virtual Vigil for Workers Memorial Day

From the The New Jersey State AFL-CIO:

Workers Memorial Day 2021 – April 28 – marks more than a year since the invisible deadly coronavirus started robbing us of our loved ones. Brave men and women who never flinched, who never considered staying home have cared for us, protected us, kept our stores stocked, and sanitized our hospitals and schools and businesses.

Many of the essential heroes of the COVID era paid the ultimate price for their selfless dedication. Meanwhile, tragic and avoidable accidents cut lives short at construction sites and other workplaces.

Therefore, we at the New Jersey State AFL-CIO dedicate this Workers Memorial Day to them and to the families and friends and union brothers and sisters they left behind.

At noon on April 28, 2021, please join a Virtual Vigil for workers who died since last year because of workplace illnesses and injuries.

Honor their memories. Pray for the dead. Fight for the living.
